Setup Guide: File Transfer System Configuration

Setting up the File Transfer System. The File Transfer System allows a user to send large files that won't go through as an e-mail attachment.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

The Instructions and screenshots presented within this document are based on the version of Integrated Business Applications available when the document was published.

Functionality Overview

The File Transfer System Configuration allows the System Administrator to:
  • Change the Header Text that appears on Recipient facing File Transfer System Screens.
  • Change the Title and Footer Bar Colors ─ of the Recipient facing File Transfer Screens.
  • Set the private File Transfer System Storage Location on the File Transfer Server.
  • Set the File Transfer Site URL.
  • Set the Maximum File Transfer Upload Size.
  • Force the requirement of a Password when transferring files.
  • Set the File Transfer System Script Timeout Period when transferring files.
  • Assigns the From Address that is inserted into the Access Notification E-Mail sent to the Link Sender when a File Transfer Link is accessed.

Accessing the File Transfer System Configuration Screens

To access the File Transfer Configuration Screen, click System Setup located on the Main Menu, select File Transfer System Configuration from the setup options and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 1).

Editing the File Transfer System Configuration

To edit the File Transfer System Configuration, click the Edit Transfer Configuration Link located on the File Transfer System Configuration Menu Bar (See Figure 2).

When the File Transfer System Configuration Screen opens, complete the available options (outlined in the table below) and then click the Save Button (See Figure 3).

The following table provides a summary of the File Transfer System Configuration Screen Fields as well as the purpose of each.
Field Purpose
Header Text: Sets the Header Text that appears in the Header Area of all Recipient facing File Transfer Screens.
Title Bar: Sets the Background Color of Header Area in all Recipient facing File Transfer Screens.
Footer Bar: Sets the Background Color of Footer Area in all Recipient facing File Transfer Screens.
File Storage Location: Sets the private File Storage Location setup on the File Transfer Server. This location is where the File Transfer System stores the files it sends and receives.
Site URL: The URL inserted into the File Transfer Link that is e-mailed to the file Recipient. This link must point to the Integrated Business Applications Link Server.
Maximum File Size: Sets the Maximum File Size (MB) that can be loaded to the File Transfer System.
Force Password: Forces the file Recipient to enter a Password when downloading or uploading files via a File Transfer System Link.
Transfer Timeout: Sets a limit on the length of time the download or upload process will run on the File Transfer Server before timing out.
Link Access
Notification Address:
The From Address inserted into the Access Notification E-Mail that is sent back to the File Sender when a File Transfer Link is accessed by the Recipient.
