Setup Guide: External Applications

Adding External Applications to the home page. External Applications are links to web-based applications that live outside the Integrated Business Applications suite of tools. This feature allows the system administrator to create a central company application launch pad.

If you do not understand, accept and agree to be bound by the End User License Agreement, do not use this document or any of the procedures discussed herein.

You should read this document from beginning to end before proceeding with the procedures or steps discussed and or outlined.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

The Instructions and screenshots presented within this document are based on the version of Integrated Business Applications available when the document was published.

Accessing the External Applications Setup Screens

To access the External Applications Setup Screen, click System Setup located on the Main Menu, select External Applications from the setup options and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 1).

Navigating the External Applications Screen

The External Applications Screen displays a list of all configured External Applications. Using the Filter Bars, the list of External Applications can be filtered by the First Letter of the External Application Name and set to display either Active, Non-active or All Applications. External Applications can be displayed 10 per page using the Turn Paging On Link or displayed all on one page by clicking the Turn Paging Off Link (See Figure 2).

Adding an External Application

To add a new External Application, click the Add Application Link located at the top of the External Applications Screen. See Figure 3: Add Application Link.

When the External Application Add Screen opens:
  • Enter and Application Name (the pipe (|) character will force the name across a new line).
  • Enter the URL for the cloud application (include http:// or https://).
  • Choose an Icon for the application (must be a 32x32 pixel PNG image).
  • Assure the Active Status is set to Yes.
  • Enter application notes if desired.
Click the Save Button to save the new External Application (See Figure 4).

Editing an External Application

To edit an External Application click the Edit Link located to the right of the Application Entry on the External Application Screen (See Figure 5).

When the External Application Edit Screen opens update the following fields as required:
  • Enter and Application Name (the pipe (|) character will force the name across a new line).
  • Enter the URL for the cloud application (include http:// or https://).
  • Choose an Icon for the application (must be a 32x32 pixel PNG image).
  • Assure the Active Status is set to Yes.
  • Enter application notes if desired.
Click the Save Button to update the new External Application (See Figure 6).
Note:

Changing an External Application Active Status to No, will hide the icon and make that Application unavailable to all users.

Deleting an External Application

To delete an External Application, click the Delete Link located to the right of the Application Entry on the External Applications Screen (See Figure 7).

After clicking the Delete Link, a Delete Confirmation screen will be presented. Click the Delete Record Button to confirm the delete action (See Figure 8).
