Setup Guide: Employee Error Log Sources

Configuring the Employee Error Log Sources. Error Log Sources are consumed in the Employee Error Logs.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

Accessing Employee Error Log Sources

To access the Error Log Sources Setup Screen, click System Setup located on the Main Menu, select Employee Error Log Sources from the setup options and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 1).

Navigating the Employee Error Log Source Screen

The Employee Error Log Sources Screen displays a list of all Error Log Sources. Using the Filter Bars, the list of Error Sources can be filtered by the First Letter of the Error Source Name and set to display either Active, Non-Active or All Error Sources. Error Log Sources can be displayed 10 per page using the Turn Paging On Link or displayed all on one page by clicking the Turn Paging Off Link (See Figure 2).

Adding an Employee Error Log Source

To add a new Error Log Source, click the Add Error Log Source Link located at the top of the Error Log Sources Screen (See Figure 3).

When the Error Log Sources Add Screen opens, simply complete the new Error Log Source Name, assure the Active Status is set to Yes and then click the Save Button (See Figure 4).

Editing an Employee Error Log Source

To edit an Employee Error Log Source click the Edit Link located to the right of the Error Log Source Entry on the Error Log Sources Screen (See Figure 5).

When the Error Log Sources Edit Screen opens, change the Error Log Source Name and Active Status as required and then click the Save Button (See Figure 6).

Note:

Updating an Error Log Source Name will update the Error Log Source Name in all records, in all Integrated Business Applications modules, that are attached to the updated Error Log Source record.

Changing an Error Log Source Active Status to No, will make that Error Log Source unavailable for selection in all modules — when creating a new record.

Deleting an Employee Error Log Source

To delete an Employee Error Log Source, click the Delete Link located to the right of the Error Log Source Entry on the Error Log Sources Screen (See Figure 7).

After clicking the Delete Link, a Delete Confirmation screen will be presented. Click the Delete Record Button to confirm the delete action (See Figure 8).

Note:

An Employee Error Log Source can only be deleted if there are no records in any other Integrated Business Applications Modules using the Error Log Source Record being deleted. If there are records attached to the Error Log Source, a 'Record In Use' error message will be displayed (See Figure 09).
