Setup Guide: Employee Error Log Notification Configuration

Configuring the Employee Error Log Notifications. An Error Notification is sent to the employee when a error is entered under the employee's name.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

Accessing the Employee Error Log Notification Configuration

To access the Employee Error Log Notification Configuration Setup Screen, click System Setup located on the Main Menu, select Employee Error Log Notification Configuration from the setup options and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 1).

Editing the Employee Error Log Notification Configuration

To edit the Employee Error Log Notification Configuration, click the Edit Settings Link located on the Notification Configuration Screen Menu (See Figure 2).

When the Notification Edit Screen opens, update the Notification Fields as required. Merge Fields (discussed below) can be used to automatically insert content into the E-mail Notification. Make sure the Enabled Checkbox is checked and then click the Save Button (See Figure 3).

The following table provides a list of Notification Configuration Screen Fields as well as the purpose of each.
Field Purpose
Read Receipt Requests a Read Receipt from the Recipient.
Delivery Receipt Requests a Delivery Receipt from the destination mail server. Note that this will only work if the destination mail server is configured to send Delivery Receipts.
Priority Sets the Priority of the Notification (Low, Medium, High).
Fr: The From Address that appears in the Notification.
To: This address is automatically inserted by the system when a Notification is sent. Note that this address is retrieved from the main E-Mail Address entered into the Employee Record - in the Integrated Business Applications Employees Module.
Cc: This address is optional. It sends a copy of the Notification to the inserted Recipient Address.
Bcc: This address is optional. It sends a blind copy of the Notification to the inserted Recipient Address.
Subject: Inserts a Subject Line into the Notification.
Message Body: Forms the Message Body of the Notification.
The following table provides a list of the Merge Fields, and their purpose, that can be inserted into the Notification Message Body.
Field Purpose
++Title++ Inserts the Recipient’s Formal Title (Mr., Ms., Etc.).
++FirstName++ Inserts the Recipient’s First Name into the Error Notification.
++Initial++ Inserts the Recipient’s Middle Initial if available.
++LastName++ Inserts the Recipient’s Last Name.
++EmployeeNumber++ Inserts the Recipient’s Employee Number as recorded in the Employee Module.
++Division++ Inserts the Recipient’s currently assigned Division as set in the Employee Module.
++Department++ Inserts the Recipient’s currently assigned Department as set in the Employee Module.
++Type++ Inserts the Error Type as selected in the Error Log Entry.
++Source++ Inserts the Error Source Type as set in the Error Log Entry.
++DateTime++ Inserts the Date and Time the Error was logged.
++ErrorDetail++ Inserts the Error Detail as logged.
