Setup Guide: Country Black List Management

How to update the Country Black List. The Country Black List allow the system administrator to block system access by the IP address range assigned to a country.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

The Instructions and screenshots presented within this document are based on the version of Integrated Business Applications available when the document was published.

Country Black List

The Country Black List allows the System Administrator to block access to the Integrated Business Applications system based on an IP Address Range.

To access the Country Black List, click System Setup on the Main Menu, select Country Black List from the System Setup Menu and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 1).

Adding a Country to the Country Black List

To add a Country to the Country Black List, select Add Country from the Country Black List Menu located on the top of the Country Black List Screen (See Figure 2).

The Country Black List Add Screen will open (See Figure 3).

The following fields will need to be completed on the Country Black List Add screen:
  • Country Code

    The two letter Country Code.
  • Country Name

    Name of the Country being black listed.
  • Start IP

    First IP Address in the IP address range.
  • End IP

    Last IP Address in the IP Address Range.
  • Enabled

    Activates and deactivates of the black list entry.

Editing an Entry on the Country Black List

To change an Entry in the Country Black List, click the Edit Link located on the right side of the Country Black List Entry (See Figure 4).

When the Edit Screen opens, change the field contents as needed then click the Save Button (See Figure 5)

Deleting an Entry on the Country Black List

To delete and entry on the Country Black List, click the Delete Link located on the right side of the Country Black List Entry (See Figure 6).

A Delete Confirmation screen will be presented. Click the Delete Record button to confirm the delete action (See Figure 7).

Searching the Country Black List

To search the contents of the Country Black List, click the Search Black List link on the Menu Bar (See Figure 8).

When the Country Black List Search Screen appears, enter the search criteria in the appropriate Search Field and then click the Search Button (See Figure 9).

A search can be executed on one or more of the following fields. Multiple entries are treated with the logical AND operator:
  • Country Code
  • Country Name
  • Start Address
  • End Address
The Country Black List Search Results can be filtered to show just the enabled Black List Entries, the disabled Black List Entries or all Black List Entries.

Country Black List Log

The Country Black List Log lets the System Administrator review failed access attempts from computers using Blocked IP Addresses. The Black List Log is accessed by clicking the Country Black List Log Tab located towards the top of the Country Black List Page (See Figure 10).

To review Country Black List Log, set the IP Address Filter, set the Order By Option, choose a Start Date and Finish Date, select a Report Format and then click the Proceed Button (See Figure 10).

The Country Black List Log will display the Date and Time of the access attempt, the Source IP Address, the Port Number used and any available User Agent Information (See Figure 11).

The computer with the Blocked IP Address will receive the message as shown below (See Figure 12).

Assuming Security Incident Notifications have been enabled under the Security Settings (discussed in the Integrated Business Applications – Administration – Security Settings document), an e-mail containing the following information will be automatically sent to the Configured Recipient (See Figure 13).
