Setup Guide: Access Log and Statistics Reports

Access log and statistics reporting. Allows the generation of access logs by date, user name and IP address. Also allows the creation of time-of-day usage statistics.

Audience

This document in designed for the person who will be administering the Integrated Business Applications software. This person should be proficient in the use of computers but will not require advanced technical knowledge.

The Instructions and screenshots presented within this document are based on the version of Integrated Business Applications available when the document was published.

Access Log and Statistics

The Access Log and Statistics feature allows the System Administrator to run two types of access information reports. These are:
  • a report listing which users have logged in to the system, and when; and
  • a report summarizing the number of user logins by hour.
To access the Access Log and Statistics Screen, click System Setup on the Main Menu, select Access Log & Statistics from the System Setup Screen and click the Proceed Button.

Access Log Report

The Access Log Report is available by clicking the Access Log tab (See Figure 1).

To run the Access Log report, set:
  • User Account to either All Users or a specific User;
  • IP Address to either All IP Addresses or a specific IP Address;
  • Order By to either User Name or IP Address;
  • Display type to either All Login Activity, Successful Logins or Failed Logins;
  • Start Date and End Date for the report;
  • the report format desired; and
  • click the Proceed button.
The Integrated Business Applications software will then render a detailed Access Log Report.

Selecting the MS Word or MS Excel option under Step 2: Create Report, will export the report into the respective program. These programs need to be installed on your computer in order for the export feature to work.

Access Statistics Report

The Access Statistics Report summarizes the number of User Logins by hour for a period between the specified Start Date and End Date.

The Access Statistics report is available by clicking the Access Statistics tab, after selecting the Access Log and Statistics option from the System Setup menu (See Figure 2).

To run the Access Statistics Report:
  • set the Start Date;
  • set the End Date; and
  • click the Proceed button.
The Integrated Business Applications software will then render a Access Statistics Report as shown below (See Figure 3).
